We would like to receive “best practice methods” from other PIMMS project members regarding all issues relating to public transport, especially • marketing campaigns • mobility advisory (for companies and individualized mobility advisory) • mobility management in general
1. Main characteristics of the city/region • The principal town in the Rhine-Main region • It has a population of 650,00 and additionally about 400,000 daily commuters • traffiQ does the planning, financing and marketing for public transport in Frankfurt • Frankfurt has a well developed public transport system: bus, tram, underground (55 bus lines, 8 tram lines, 7 underground lines) and commuter trains.
2. Main transport issues • Too many commuters at the daily peak hours. • Some underground vehicles are old and need replacement
3. Mobility management domains of special interest • More effective public campaigns to promote public transport • Managing the introduction of “cleaner” vehicles
